8 biggest games of August 2023 for PS5, Xbox, PC, and more

Hundreds of games come out every year, and 2023 is no different. Numerous titles are coming out in August, including Baldur’s Gate 3, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Atlas Fallen, and more. Here are some of the biggest releases you should keep an eye out for. 

Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3, the long-awaited sequel to the Baldur’s Gate franchise, is finally getting a full release in August. After years of being developed and polished by Larian Studios, the turn-based CRPG will leave early access on August 3, 2023, and will be coming to the PC. 

WrestleQuest

WrestleQuest is an RPG where you play as an ambitious young wrestler who dreams of making a name for themselves by challenging a line-up of villains and becoming the top pro wrestler. The game will play similarly to the WWE games and have stylish pixelated graphics. It will be coming out on August 8, 2023, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch. 

Atlas Fallen

Atlas Fallen is an open-world RPG being developed by Deck 13, the studio best known for The Surge series. Set in an alien desert world full of hostile creatures and mysteries from the past, the game lets you fight against a tyrannical god with sand-based weapons and superpowers. The game will be coming out on August 10 for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. 

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

The Classic horror movie The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is being made into a survival horror game by developer Sumo Digital. The gameplay will be similar to Dead by Daylight in that one player will play as a Leatherface and the other players will cooperate to survive. The game will be cool out on August 18 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. 

Immortals of Aveum

Immortals of Aveum is a unique first-person shooter developed by Ascendant Studios where you can kill your enemies using a plethora of unique spells. You play as Jak who joins an ancient order of protectors that are fighting a war that will decide the fate of Aveum. The game will be coming out on August 22 for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC.

Blasphemous 2

Blasphemous 2, the sequel to the original Blasphemous which was well received is not far from its release. Like the previous game, this too will be filled with everything that makes Metroidvania games so much fun like intense platforming, engaging combat, and of course, intricately designed levels. The game will be coming out on August 24 for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch. 

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon doesn’t need an introduction as everybody knows it’s being made by the legendary FromSoftware.

After years of nothing the classic mecha game franchise is getting a new game and seems to be taking a bit of a souls-like approach to its enemies and combat while simultaneously retaining everything that makes mecha games so much fun to play. The game will be coming out on August 25 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. 

Goodbye Volcano High

Goodbye Volcano High is an ambitious cinematic narrative game with a bit of rhythm and action added into the mix that is set in a world that is on the brink of destruction. You play as a young dinosaur named Fang as they come of age while everything falls apart around them. The game will be coming out on August 29 for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
