Capcom Showcase 2023 summarized

Capcom Showcase 2023 was the last of the gaming industry’s showcases this season and while the number of games shown was smaller in comparison, it was all still very exciting to watch regardless. Here’s a brief recap of everything that was revealed. 

Mega Man X DiVE Offline

A new Mega Man game was announced at Capcom Showcase 2023. It’s an offline version of Mega Man X DiVE, aptly called Mega Man X DiVE Offline.

For those who don’t know, it’s a side-scrolling action platformer where players can play as Mega Man along with other various characters. The game will be available on mobile and Steam sometime this year.

Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice Trilogy

A collection of Ace Attorney games was unveiled at Capcom Showcase 2023, which includes the three most recent games in the main Ace Attorney series: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace AttorneyDual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice.

The games are getting remastered and will be available in seven different languages. A concrete release date hasn’t been revealed, but Capcom has announced that the collection will be out sometime in early 2024 and will be available on the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. 

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Speaking of Ace Attorney, Shu Takumi’s cult classic mystery game, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, is being remastered for consoles and will feature HD resolution.

A demo for the game is also available to play and the game itself is coming out June 30, 2023, for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. 

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess was initially revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase and then again during the opening of Capcom Showcase 2023.

Not much is known about this brand-new IP, but Capcom has said that it will be a third-person game that will focus on melee combat and strategy. A release date is not yet known, however, the game will be coming for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Pragmata

Pragmata made an appearance at Capcom Showcase 2023 but not for a good reason. After being delayed multiple times, it was announced that the game was being delayed yet again, this time indefinitely.

On the bright side, the game doesn’t seem like it will be canceled as we got a glimpse of what the game is going to be like. The game will come out on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Exoprimal

A new trailer for Exoprimal was shown off at Capcom Showcase 2023, which teased bits of the main story. We got a look at the game’s roadmap as well along with its battle pass system.

Another open beta for the game was announced and will be available from June 16 to June 18. Exoprimal is coming out on July 14 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. 

Dragon’s Dogma 2

We got a proper look at Dragon’s Dogma 2’s gameplay at Capcom Showcase 2023. Many popular features from the original are said to return like the pawn system which will allow players to bring up to three AI-controlled characters into their party.

The world will be four times larger than the original and is said to encourage players to form strategies and solve problems creatively with its new immersive physics. The game will be coming out on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release date has not been announced.
