Destiny 2: Lightfall: How to defeat the final boss?

Destiny 2’s Lightfall campaign ends with a boss, players will recognize. Calus, the former emperor returns to the game as the servant of the witness, seeking to take the veil.

It is advisable to equip Strand, especially if you are playing solo as it helps in not only escaping some of the attacks Calus and his minions will throw at you, but also avoiding getting pushed off the map.

Here’s a guide on how to defeat this difficult final boss:

Phase 1

In the first phase, Calus will hurl fire projectiles that home in on you, which can be shot and destroyed. You will also have the occasional adds or minions to face.

Carrying an SMG or a Grenade launcher would be useful to take care of them when they come in groups. Should the adds get too overwhelming, you can always swing away with the help of Strand.

You can also take cover behind the barriers in the outer platforms as they block his attacks, though he will launch a pyramid-shaped projectile once in a while which will deal massive amounts of damage, so you should get out of there ASAP if you see one.

When you do enough damage to Calus, tormentors will come to his aid and shield him. He will be immune to attacks until you kill the tormentors so taking them out should be your first priority.

Phase 2

When you take out the first health bar, Calus will regain full health and will switch to a sword. His melee attacks are deadly and it is best to avoid them at all costs.

The arena’s reduction in size doesn’t help, but you can use Strand to get around and dodge his attacks. He will raise his shield occasionally, but it won’t make him invulnerable to your attacks.

That’s pretty much it. The boss might be difficult for some, but if you are the type who wants a harder challenge you could always try to beat Destiny 2: Lightfall Legendary mode.
