Nintendo showcased Wave 4 or Mario Kart 8‘s Booster Course DLC, revealing a new character, Birdo. Fans were pleasantly surprised as the company had not mentioned adding new characters until then.
Fans are once again excited as with the release of Wave 4 it has been confirmed that Mario Kart 8 will be getting 5 more characters, thanks to the five question marks below Birdo in the character select screen.

With wave 4, two new cups have been added to the game. One is called The Boomerang Cup which includes Bangkok Rush, Mario Circuit, Waluigi Stadium, and Singapore Speedway. The other cup is called The Fruit Cup and includes Amsterdam Drift, Riverside Park, Donkey Kong Summit, and Yoshi’s Island, the only brand-new course.
Nintendo has said that the two upcoming Waves will feature even more returning courses and characters across the Mario Kart series. Once all of the six waves are released, Mario Kart 8 will have 48 new courses and 6 new characters for players to pick.
