PUBG makers reportedly building new title on Unreal Engine 5

With the Unreal Engine 5 being touted to release in 2022, a number of games are being planned to redeveloped with the new game creation platform. The list might include an unnamed project made by the creators of popular battle royal game ‘PUBG’ (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds).

According to Leakster PlayerIGN on Twitter, Krafton Amsterdam is hiring a technical art director and technical animator for its upcoming unnamed project.

The tweet adds that there was also a meeting to create ‘PUBG 2’ on the Unreal Engine 5 as well as another Krafton game ‘X1’.

At the moment, it cannot be confirmed whether the upcoming unnamed project will, in fact, be PUBG 2 or a completely new game altogether.

Unreal Engine 5 creators Epic Games have also already announced that PUBG’s rival ‘Fortnite’ will be getting an updated version created on the new gaming engine.
