‘World Of Warcraft’ to remove Twitter integration

In a recent development, World Of Warcraft is removing its Twitter integration, because of certain changes made to the social media platform.

Twitter has said that it would begin charging a $100 fee for developers to gain access to its API per month, because of the abuse by “bot scammers and opinion manipulators” in the words of Elon Musk. This is supposedly the reason for the removal of the integration.

In the general discussion forum on Blizzard’s official website Kaivax, the community manager wrote a post that read: “Over the next two days, we will update World of Warcraft® to remove the integrated Twitter® posting feature.

“After this small update, the function to Tweet from in-game will no longer be available, and the settings which store your Twitter credentials will no longer appear. This will not require any action by players.”

After February 9, 2023 players will lose the ability to post screenshots and achievements directly onto Twitter.

The players’ consensus seems to be one of indifference as many of them claimed to never have used the feature and a few even said they had forgotten that it even existed.
