WWE 2K23: All new features and improved game modes

Fans of the WWE games have been patiently waiting for the next installment ever since the release of WWE 2K22. While it was a massive step up after the badly received WWE 2K20, fans are nonetheless hungry for more chair-swinging WWE-style action. They needn’t wait longer as WWE 2K23 is upon us.

The developers, Visual Concepts, have stated that they are making improvements across all of the game modes and so, let us look at some of the new features that are in the game.

MyGM

The long-requested MyGM mode is returning in WWE 2K23 with more features and options.  Players can select between one of the 7 general managers (Sonya Deville, Adam Pearce, Stephanie McMahon, Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Xavier Woods, and Tyler Breeze) and manage their own wrestling brand.

As General Managers, players will have to draft wrestlers, manage the budget, set up shows and matches, and more.

WarGames

Wargames is a match type where two teams of 3 or 4 wrestlers will duke it out in two rings surrounded by a cage.

The match will start out with one wrestler from each team fighting in this dual-ring setup, with more wrestlers joining in periodically. The match can be won by submission or a pinfall, though all wrestlers from both teams have to be present in the cage.

MyRISE

MyRISE in WWE 2K23 will give players the option to choose between two modes: Legacy and The Lock.

The Legacy mode is exclusive to women wrestlers and will have the player start a career where they will have to prove themselves and well, build a legacy.

The Lock mode is exclusive to male wrestlers and will have the player deal with the high expectations that come with being a top athlete with a lot of hype behind them.

While there are a few linear story elements, players can make decisions that will affect the story in different ways. Players can choose the matches they want to participate in and even choose whether they want to be the good guy or the bad guy.
