Pirate Ships is a strategy game developed by HeroCraft where you build ships, assign crewmen, and fight other ships in intense ship combat.
The game can be addictingly fun, but that doesn’t take away from its challenging aspects, especially in the early stages of the campaign.
Here are a few tips and tricks to help beginners get started.
Preview the enemy’s ship
A neat feature in Pirate Ships is the ability to preview ships. Before starting any mission in the game, you have the ability to preview the ship of the enemy you are about to face before you actually go into battle.
This might seem like a cool feature without any actual use at first, but if you’re observant, you will be able to analyze the enemy’s ship and strategize accordingly.
If your enemy is mainly melee-focused, then using a fast ship with ranged combatants like Canoners and Shooters is the way to go.
Similarly, every type of enemy ship you will encounter has a weakness and a way to deal with it.
Unfortunately, this feature is not available in PvP and is only available in campaign mode, but that doesn’t make it any less useful for newer players as campaign mode is one of the best ways to progress in the game.
Complete daily missions
One of the best ways to gain XP and coins in Pirate Ships is by completing daily missions.
Under the Quests tab, you will be able to see the daily missions menu.
Completing them will earn quite a bit of XP, coins, and other rewards which can be extremely useful for newer players.
So, make sure to complete them consistently every day.

Unlock new captains
A major factor that plays into winning battles in Pirate Ships is having a good captain leading your ship.
Captains make huge differences in how battles play out, and the better the captain, the higher the chance of you winning.
There are many captains in the game that you will have to unlock by leveling up, but if you have the money for it, you can buy some of them with real money.
Similarly, you can level up your current captain with captain rubies, which will also increase your chances of winning, but it’s recommended that you find a captain you like first and then level them up to the fullest with the rubies you have.
