Steam Summer Sale 2023: 5 Most underrated games to buy

Steam Summer Sale 2023 is live and there are thousands of great games to enlarge your Steam library. Everybody talks about the big ones with discounts, so to change things up, here are five heavily underrated games that are worth checking out this Steam Summer Sale.

5) Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King

One of the best parts about the Steam Summer Sale is that indie developers get to sell their games at great discounts and expand their player base.

Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is one such indie game that is being heavily discounted and everyone should check it out. It’s a Zelda clone in every way possible from the old-school pixel graphics to the combat and exploration.

However, that is not an insult by any means as a clone of something good is still good. Moreover, the game does enough to stand out on its like with its bedtime story-esque narration and lighthearted atmosphere.

4) Sun Haven

Another great indie game to look out for this Steam Summer Sale is Sun Haven. It can be best described as Stardew Valley, but better in some ways.

It has a heavier focus on combat, exploration, and fantastical elements. It also has some of the most colorful and vibrant pixel art found in video games. Other features like infinite stamina make parts of the gameplay less tedious and overall make the game more fun.

3) Forever Skies

Though Forever Skies is recognized to some degree, it is not as popular as it should be. The game can be described as Subnautica, but set in the sky.

In this post-apocalyptic survival game, your main goal is to find a cure for a mysterious disease, which is, of course, easier said than done. In your journey, you will visit various towering structures as you uncover secrets and look for resources all the while hoping you don’t fall to the surface covered in a poisonous fog or encounter a storm.

Furthermore, since the game is in early access, more content is on its way.

2) Warhammer 40k: Space Marine

The Warhammer 40k universe is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating and brutal worlds ever created. If you’re even mildly interested in the franchise then chances are you find the Space Marines to be badass.

If so, check out Warhammer 40k: Space Marine as it puts in the shoes of Titus as he fights off the Orks trying to invade Forge World Graia, alongside his subordinates.

As far as the gameplay goes it’s your standard third-person shooter with some occasional hacking and slashing. However, the world and the atmosphere of this game are like no other shooter and for that alone, it’s worth checking out.

1) Mad Max

You cannot talk about underrated games without mentioning Mad Max. This game had the misfortune of being released in the same year as giants like The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, and Metal Gear Solid 5, so most people either didn’t have the money to spend on this game or didn’t know it existed at all.

The story of this game isn’t mind-blowing, but it is interesting enough to keep you engaged throughout. And if that’s not enough the game has a breathtaking open world that nails the tone and atmosphere of Mad Max, the combat is intense and heavily inspired by the Batman: Arkham games, and of course, there are badass vehicles that you can customize and drive around in the wasteland.

With a 75% discount on the Steam Summer Sale, it’s practically a steal for the amount of fun you will have in this game.
